About VetInWild

We're Not Just Vets.
We're Changemakers.

Real people. Real impact. Working at the intersection of wildlife health, community empowerment, and environmental conservation.

Our Story

It Started With a Question

"What if we could protect both wildlife and the communities that live alongside them?"

Back in 2015, a group of veterinarians in northern Kenya saw something that changed everything: wildlife populations declining, domestic animals suffering from preventable diseases, and communities caught in the middle.

We realized that animal health, human health, and environmental health aren't separate issues— they're deeply interconnected. So we built VetInWild on the One Health approach, where every action considers this vital connection.

What Drives Us

Our North Star

These aren't just words on a wall. They guide every decision we make and every life we touch.

👁️

Our Vision

A society where animal welfare and health are protected and valued for their impact in enabling healthy communities and ecosystems.

🎯

Our Mission

To facilitate collaborative and coordinated action to enhance animal welfare and the appreciation of the interdependence of humans, animals and the environment.

Our Values

How We Show Up

These values aren't negotiable. They're the foundation of everything we do.

🛡️

Integrity First

We do what's right, even when no one's watching. Our work affects real lives— both animal and human—so we hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards.

🤝

True Collaboration

Big problems need diverse minds. We partner with communities, organizations, and governments because lasting change happens together, not alone.

💪

Community Power

We don't do things *for* communities—we work *with* them. Local knowledge + veterinary expertise = solutions that actually stick.

Behind the Scenes

Life at VetInWild

We work hard, laugh often, and never forget why we're here.

A Day in the Field

From sunrise vaccinations to midnight emergency calls—every day brings new challenges and moments that remind us why this work matters.

We celebrate wins together (like successful translocations) and support each other through tough cases. Because this work isn't just about skills—it's about heart.
